Taxes
We do not charge sales tax outside Maryland. The sales tax rate for purchases within Maryland is currently 6% Overseas shipments are not subject to any US taxes but may be subject to taxes or import duties on arrival, any such import duties are the responsibility of the recipient.
Free Domestic Shipping
For a limited time only we are offering free ground shipping on all orders to the lower 48 states (A handling charge applies to drop shipped items and certain heavy items)
Other Domestic Shipping
Free domestic shipping will be the cheapest of Smartpost, USPS Parcel Post, UPS or other method as appropriate. Other shipping methods are available, but you have to call and the shipping charge will be the actual cost. Heavy items such as Batteries, wire and cable are subject to an additional handling charge. Items that normally drop ship direct from the manufacturer such as alternators and Imtra lighting are subject to a handling charge.
For orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the USVI the Priority Mail rates are as follows:
For orders up to $100 the flat rate cost is $15.00
For orders up to $250 the flat rate cost is $17.50
For orders up to $500 the flat rate cost is $35.00
For orders up to $1000 the flat rate cost is $45.00

For orders to Canada by UPS Standard the rates are as follows:
For orders up to $100 the flat rate cost is $17.50
For orders up to $250 the flat rate cost is $25.00
For orders up to $500 the flat rate cost is $35.00
For orders up to $1000 the flat rate cost is $45.00

We now offer international shipping. Because of the wide variety of items we sell and the variety of shipping methods available the shipping cost cannot be calculated automatically. International shipping is subject to a $7 handling fee to cover the cost of completing the necessary paperwork. A rough idea of shipping costs by Express Mail International can be found at www.usps.com Express Mail International is normally the least expensive option we offer for overseas shipments. If you want to order online for international shipping here are your options:
1. Get a shipping quote:
Select the "On Account"option at checkout. Enter "SHIPPING QUOTE" where it asks for your account number. In the order notes enter the method you prefer. eg "most economical" or "fastest" You don't have to pay up front but YOU MUST COMPLETE THE CHECKOUT PROCESS and get a confirmation in order for us to see your order.
2. Checkout and pay:
You will be charged our $7 international handling fee and we will bill you for the balance. In the checkout notes please specify your preferred shipping method. If you are unhappy with the shipping cost you can cancel the order.
3. Use a mail forwarder
If you want to buy a lot of stuff in the US you can use a mail forwarder like myus.com to receive and bundle your shipments together for more economical shipping of large orders.
Shipping methods
Free shipping orders may ship by UPS ground, USPS Parcel Post, USPS First Class or Priority Mail, Smartpost, Fedex Ground or any suitable low cost shipping method. We do a mix of direct shipping from our warehouse and drop shipping from our various suppliers. Big orders may ship from more than one location. Most orders ship the next day or sooner, almost all domestic orders ship within three days. International orders ship by Express Mail International, UPS and Fedex
