This PowerBar 1000 is rated for 1000 Amps DC at up to 150 volts and offers the opportunity to consolidate a great many circuits at a single bus bar. The two tier arrangement allows a greater density of connections and the height of the tiers matches the height of the 5502 and 5503 fuse blocks on the high tier and the 5005 fuse blocks on the lower tier. A link bus can be used to connect from the PowerBar to the fuse blocks. This bus bar comes with a cover and as well as having 8 x 3/8" studs it has 16 screws for smaller connections.

1. My Blue Sea 2019 Catalog says "Busbar may be cut to a shorter length to accommodate constricted space". Is there a way to get a smaller cover if I "customize" the busbar? I am considering cutting off most of the small terminals. How many I cut off might depend upon the cover lengths available. 2. Can you purchase the end caps for the 1990 separately? If so, what is the PN and what is the cost for each.
The ends are reusable so if you cut the busbar you can put the ends back on. You cannot cut and resue the cover so if you cut the busbar you will either have to use it without a cover or make your own or try to adapt the one that comes with it.
I would welcome comments and photos from anyone that has tried this.

Ways to improve busbar performance by optimizing Current Flow:
The performance of a busbar can be increased by attaching the primary feed wire to the center of the busbar. The performance can be further increased by first attaching the primary feed wire followed by the highest load wire to the same terminal. This will allow the current to be carried by the large cables and avoid sending all of the current through the busbar. Although this will improve the performance of the busbar, it does not change the actual ampacity rating of the busbar and should not be used when comparing one busbar to another.
