This Mini Battery Switch is suitable for smaller boats such as center consoles or runabouts. The rating of the switch is almost as high as the e-Series switches but its compact size makes it more suitable for smaller boats. If you are installing this with large battery cables such as 2/0 awg and above you will find it easier to use the bigger switch if space is available. This battery selector switch has no "Both" position, just Battery 1, Battery 2 and Off

Q:
Is the real max voltage rating 32V? Or is it also possible to switch 38 or 80V with lower currents?

A:
32 volts is what it was tested and evaluated for. I imagine that is because that is the highest voltage it would be expected to have a high current rating for. There is no indication of how it would perform at higher voltage because no one has tested it for that application.

For this switch to meet its full ratings you have to use
4/0 awg battery cable
, this is because the heavy cable can remove any heat generated in the switch more efficiently than smaller diameter cable.
