Tech Tip

The 7610 and the 7611 ACR's are very similar and both do the same thing.

The 7610 has a start isolation feature which is not included in the 7611.  The start isolation feature allows you to wire it to the ignition switch and have it disconnect the instant the starter is operated.  The purpose of this is to prevent electronics from cutting out when starting the engine.  Wiring of this feature is entirely optional.  The 7610 was designed for use in boats with alternators of up to 120 Amps.

The 7611 limits the battery size you can use, the largest battery permitted is Group 27 size.  It also has an optional feature of Auxiliary Battery Priority which shares the alternator output with the auxiliary battery for an extended period of time. The 7611 was specifically designed for use in Police Cars to charge an auxiliary battery for an extended period.
