Here we have a wide variety of rubber boots and cable caps. Used for battery posts and stud terminals of all kinds. On every survey I have ever seen the surveyor has a comment about exposed terminals, often on starter motor or alternator terminals as well as battery terminals. These connections need to be covered so if you accidentally drop a wrench in the battery box or engine area you don't get a nasty surprise.
