THESE ARE ALL J10 BELTS Balmar Altmount kits already come with one spare belt, if you want to order more this is the place. They can be a bit hard to source so it is recommended to carry a few if you are planning a long trip. This is an extra wide 10 rib serpentine belt. I'm sorry we don't have any 6 rib belts but these are easily available nationwide at auto parts stores.

Tech Tip

If you are ordering a new pulley kit it would be best to wait and see if the belt that comes with it fits before ordering additional belts. Each kit already comes with a spare.

Q: Can you tell me the part number or length for a spare serpentine belt for the 48-YSP-3JH-E Thanks

For the YSP-3JH-E kit that would be the 46" belt. Often the writing on the belt will be in the format J460 where the last two digits indicate the length in inches. Occasionally it will be in the format J445 which means 44.5 inches. The Balmar part number for the 46 inch belt is is 48-B-46.

Q: I have a Balmar xt 170 alt. Yanmar 4jhbe engine. Brand of belt is Bestorq 470j. So I’m guessing 47l belt. Just tryin to be sure

Q: Is this the same size belt that comes with the Upgrade serpentine belt kit (Part Number 48-YSP-3JHA) for a yanmar Diesel engine 4JH5E?

A: You have to specify what length you want. Its written on the belt, in the example you gave me, 48-YSP-3JH-A the belt length is 44.5" and the encoding on the belt will read J445. If the belt was 46" long it would read J460.

You can go on the Balmar website (balmar.net) and look up what belt came with your kit. If you didn't personally install the kit you should double check the length because sometimes we swap out belts for people to make them a bit longer or shorter than the standard for the engine. If you have the 200 Amp alternator your belt is almost certainly longer than the standard one.
