This Mk3 USB interface is used for programming a MultiPlus or Quattro inverter charger. It is the link that allows you to connect your device to a PC or Mac. We have two Blog posts and videos to help you with programming:

The necessary software can be downloaded from the Victron website. Victron Connect is the primary way to connect, but other programs are available for specialized uses. In addition to the Mk3 USB you will need an RJ45 cable.

Tech Tip

There are two versions of the Mk3 USB Interface. This one has a USB A plug and is more expensive than the USB C version

Q: Can this be used with a Mac and Victron Connect, version 5.8 to program a MultiPlus unit with Lithium Battery Bank, shore power, solar, and 2nd alternator/Balmor regulator charging (not a multi-unit system)?

Sorry but this answer is a bit complicated:

The first part is easy. Yes this unit can be used to connect to a MultiPlus using Victron Connect which will run on a Mac or PC.

If you are using Victron Smart Lithium Batteries then you need to install the VE Bus BMS Assistant as part of the programming, and at the moment (as of March 2020) that feature is not available in Victron Connect and can only be done with VE Config which requires a PC.

Q: What is the diffirance between mk2 and mk3 ?

The differences between the Mk2 and the Mk3 were very minor and make no difference at all for most applications. We still sell the Mk2 because the newer one doesn't work with the Phoenix chargers.
