Now with 5 year manufacturers warranty.The Battery Balancer equalizes the state of charge of two series connected 12 V batteries, or of several parallel strings of series connected batteries. When the charge voltage of a 24 V battery system increases to more than 27 V, the Battery Balancer will turn on and compare the voltage over the two series connected batteries. The Battery Balancer will draw a current of up to 1 A from the battery (or parallel connected batteries) with the highest voltage. The resulting charge current differential will ensure that all batteries will converge to the same state of charge. If needed, several balancers can be paralleled. A 36 V battery bank can be balanced with two Battery Balancers and a 48 V battery bank can be balanced with three Battery Balancers

Q: I have 4 12v 240 aH batterier, seriel connected to 24Vdc and then parallel conected to 500 aH. How many units would I need and How would the wiring be?

A: You need one balancer per pair of batteries in series. For 12 volt batteries in series to make 24 volts you need one balancer.

If you add multiple strings in parallel to the first string you still only need one balancer provided that you wire the bank as shown in the instruction manual.

Q: I have,a Rolls Surrette 24 volt battery bank comprised of twelve 2 volt batteries. Would this device help balance the voltage differences between the cells? Will it help reduce sulfation?

A: Interesting question! Its designed to work with batteries of 12 volts, so it would work to equalize the voltage between the two halves of your 24 volt bank, but it wouldn't work at an individual cell level to equalize two adjacent cells. Your question is particularly interesting because Lithium Ion batteries do have this kind of management system at a cell level but the battery management system is more sophisticated, so maybe in future someone will come up with one that is more universal and could be used in your case.
