This model is being discontinued and will be replaced by ORI241260020.
DC-DC Converters are used to step up or step down DC Voltages. This model is a step down converter and is used to power 12 Volt devices on vehicles and boats with 24 Volt DC Systems. Its 40 Amp output makes it suitable for powering a variety of higher powered 12 volt devices including Satellite TV tracking systems, VHF radios, Stereos, Scanners, SSB's etc.

A:
This particular model is for 24 to 12 volts so your input voltage would be out of range. It also has a non adjustable output voltage of 13.2 Volts.

A:
This converter has a 12 Volt output and so is not appropriate for a 24 Volt radar

Some people get confused by the connections on this unit. The bottom pair are the input and output negatives. Since this is not an isolated converter the input and output negatives are common (ie they are connected directly to each other internally) and the device being powered can get its negative from anywhere (in a vehicle that might mean the chassis ground)
The input and output positives are doubled up. Here is the line from the instruction manual that refers to that:
Important note: always use two parallel cables on input, output and minus if the output current will exceed 25A
The green plug functions as a switch. Take it out and the unit is off, put it back in and the unit is on. Or replace the jumper wire with a remote switch (
such as this
or

) and turn it on and off remotely. Or connect the right hand wire in that green plug to a +24 volt ignition switch and have it come on when the engine is on.
