If you buy a 3.15" Dual Foot alternator in a kit you will get one of these included. If you buy the alternator by itself the mounting bolt is not included. Your existing mounting bolt is quite likely to be too short and this one is the right length. The kit also includes some additional fasteners that are used to bolt to the mounting arm, however you are unlikely to need these.

10mm diameter mounting bolt, washer, lock washer, and nut.
145 mm long bolt including head.
Shaft length 140 mm, shaft diameter 10mm. Hex head size 17 mm. both ends.
Kit also includes some misc. other fasteners you probably wont need.
Works for all Yanmar engines (except CX/LP Series)

Balmar alternators use a sliding bushing for the back foot. The purpose of the bushing is to slide in and close the gap when the mounting bolt is tightened. This ensures a secure mounting that is very snug. Because the bushing sticks out from the back of the alternator the bolt needed to mount it is probably longer than the one that came with your original alternator. Some smaller engines use a narrower 8 mm bolt and if you have one of these you will need to source your own bolt of the same dimensions.
