Balmar have combined the best features of their 1st generation Smartgauge with many advantages of a shunt-based amp-hour counting system. Further, they have designed a device architecture which facilitates multiple Displays or multiple SmartShunts to be added to the network-allowing the boater to monitor multiple energy storage banks simultaneously from multiple locations.
The drawing below shows how to connect any of the systems to the MC-618 regulator. A com cable is required, it can either be the SG2-0400 which is 10 meters long or the SG2-0403 which is 5 meters long. If you purchase either of these cables by themselves the package will also include the SG2-0404 "Y" cable.
The drawing below shows how the system can be expanded to add an additional regulator
