Balmar to discontinue certain pulley kits and alternators
Some Altmount Kits to be Discontinued

Balmar has been providing Altmount® kits to their customers for over 15 years, enabling the installation of their high-output alternators on older engine designs. As these engines age out, the volume of annual sales for many of the kits has dropped. Additionally, the Altmount® kit component manufacturing costs have increased dramatically over the last three years, as each kit contains custom machined pulleys. Combining these two factors, they have reached a point where the continuation of slow-moving kits has become unfeasible. Therefore, they intend to discontinue the kits shown in the tables below.

Some large case alternators to be discontinued

Balmar has been producing large-case alternators almost from the company’s inception over 40 years ago. It has been a continuous effort to source and re-source key components, amid the changing manufacturing landscape over the years. Just like with the Altmount products, the costs of some custom components have increased substantially over the last five years. With this in mind, they have come to the difficult conclusion to end of life the 94, 95 and 98 series alternators.
