Batteries (Lithium Ion)
Ever wondered what is inside a Victron Smart Lithium Battery? Here is an inside photo to show a bit about what is going on. This particular battery had an unfortunate accident involving a dock cart and a dog. The terminals got damaged and have been removed. Fortunately nobody was injured.

This is a 160 Amp Hour battery and you can see that there are eight cells total in a series parallel arrangement to give a nominal 12.8 volts. The electronics you can see comprises the cell balancing circuits, the bluetooth circuits and the BMS interface.
We recommend that you don't try this at home.

I'm curious about the new 12V 200-a battery that weighs about half as much as the previous 200 ah battery. How did they remove so much weight?

What cells are inside? I just bought a pair of the new 200Ah batteries from Victron. Very compact and lightweight. Are these Winston cells?
