The story begins in 1880 with a rivalry between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse as they race to wire American cities for electricity. Edison uses direct current (DC) while Westinghouse pushes alternate current (AC). Benedict Cumberbatch plays Edison, Michael Shannon plays Westinghouse, Nicholas Hoult plays Nikola Tesla and Matthew Macfadyen plays J.P. Morgan. Watch the trailer below.
