Batteries (Lithium Ion)

Here is how the current flows through the Lynx BMS by default. The batteries must come in from the left and everything else must go out on the right. Previously if you needed it to go the other way you had to mount the entire assembly upside down. This would not be ideal because water could run down the cables and into the Lynx parts.
Now in the latest firmware update it is possible to change some settings and connections in the Lynx BMS and have the current flow in the other direction as shown below. This article is an excerpt from the manual of the Lynx BMS NG, here is the link to the full text.
After you have updated the firmware to the latest version there are two steps involved:
1) Switch some wires. The Source Sense and Load sense wires get swapped. You can read about this in more detail in the instruction manual. See photo below. This part should be done when power has been disconnected from the unit and it is totally powered down, to avoid accidentally shorting out the positive and negative terminals.

2) You need to configure the new current direction in the Victron Connect App.
For this part of the procedure the Lynx must be powered up, so its best to put the cover back on. Open the Victron Connect App, select the Lynx BMS, tap the cogwheel icon in the top right, select Current measurement direction, and set it to reversed.

The final result allows you to set up your system like shown below. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put some kind of label or notice to warn future troubleshooters what you have done.
