The GX Touch 50 is a companion to the Cerbo GX, the all-new communication-center allows you to always have perfect control over your system from wherever you are and maximizes its performance. The screen is simply bolted on top of a dashboard, eliminating the need to create perfect cut-outs

Will the VICTRON ENERGY GX TOUCH 50 work with the Victron Venus GX?

A:
No sorry, it won't. The GX Touch 50 is rather unusual in that in connects via a combo USB/HDMI connection cord which is supplied with it and is 78" long. It will only work with the Cerbo GX.

A:
You can extend the cord. Its in two parts, a standard HDMI cable carries the video and touch screen data. That can be extended with an HMDI cable from Best Buy or similar. I normally tell people to get a standard cable and a double female adaptor. The USB part carries only the power supply for the Touch 50. If you extend it you need to use an "active" USB cable. "Active" means it carries the power. You don't necessarily need to extend it because you can use a phone charger or 12 volt power USB outlet to supply the power instead.

This device comes with a double cable, USB and HDMI. Its quite short at 78" long. You can lengthen the cables as follows: The USB cable is just a power supply so if you can provide a USB charger socket nearby that will take care of powering the Touch 50 You can get an HDMI cable anywhere. I'm told the easiest way to do this is to get a double female adaptor and then a standard HDMI cable.
FUN FACT: This display works as a general purpose computer monitor. If you want a teeny tiny computer monitor you can use this.
