NEW MODEL Victron Energy ITR000100052 Autotransformer 120/240V-50A  NOW AVAILABLE.  This is a transformer for step-up, step-down and split phase output balancing purposes. It is not an isolation transformer and offers no isolation whatsoever.  The Autotransformer itself is  super simple but its use gets pretty complicated.  I tried to explain a bit more about it in my Blog Post on the subject.  The most typical use is to make two legs of 120 volts from a 240 volt power source.


Tech Tip

The new model allows for a higher neutral current, meaning it allows a greater imbalance between the two 120 volt legs.  Previously this was 32 amps for 30 minutes and 28 amps continuous but now it is 55 amps for 30 minutes and 45 amps continuous.
