How many panel Watts can this charge controller support?

This charge controller can handle 440 Watts of solar if your battery is 12 Volts and 880 Watts if your battery is 24 Volts.
What happens if my panel voltage is different than my battery voltage?

This charge controller can handle up to a maximum of 100 Volts from the panels even though the battery voltage is only 12 or 24 Volts. The panel voltage must be at least 5 volts above battery voltage.
Does this charge controller have Bluetooth?

Yes Bluetooth is built in and is accessed using the free Victron Connect app on your phone or tablet. The app can be downloaded from the Apple or Android stores and you can try it out in demo mode.
Will this work with lithium batteries?

This charge controller is fully programmable using the Victron Connect Bluetooth app on your phone. There is a pre-programmed option for Lithium batteries.
What is the warranty?

This charge controller comes with a five year manufacturers warranty.

Q: Is it possible to connect a remote temperature sensor to this controller? I want to put it in a camper van and the batteries are located on the underside of the van.

A: The temperature sensor that comes with this is built in to the unit so it just senses the ambient temperature. A Bluetooth temperature sensor is in developement and should be available as an optional extra sometime in the first half of 2018

Q: 1. Default Float charge is 13.8, but adjustable. What is range of that adjustment? Can it go down to 13.4 volts? 2. If temperature compensation is built in, does controller have to be next to batteries so it measures their temperature? (Most controllers have wire sensor connected to battery terminal.) 3. Are there restrictions on mounting controller (e.g., must be vertical for cooling fins to work)?

A: The float voltage is fully adjustable and can go to 13.4 volts and below. The temperature sensor is built in so it is intended that the charge controller be located adjacent to the batteries. It is intended that the controller be mounted upright for maximum cooling.

Q: With the Smart controller and Bluetooth do I also need a battery monitor? What information can I read on my phone?

A: The smart solar charge controller can see how much your battery is being charged by solar power. It has no way of seeing how much power you are using or how much power is coming from other sources. So the the answer is YES you do still need a battery monitor.

A: The unit you are attempting to connect to has to be powered up. Bluetooth has to be enabled on your phone. Get the latest version of the app. Refresh the app, on an iphone by swiping or pushing the refresh button. Try on another phone if you are having trouble, Android is more tricky than Apple. Also try with a laptop if it has Bluetooth.

Q: Has significant RF interference in marine applications been an issue with this unit? Thanks

A: I have occasionally heard reports of mild RF interference but I wouldn't describe them as significant. Like every electronic device of this nature this does emit some RF but I am not aware of any instances where this hasn't been solved by relocating the unit a bit further away from the sensitive wires. If you have SSB on board you might have to work a bit harder at keeping the two apart.

Q: considering replacing PVCM40D SE2 on my Airstream. I have two 80 watt solar panels with corresponding AGM 12v batteries. Is this the correct unit for me ?

A: The 100/30 is good for up to 400 Watts of solar in a 12 volt system so if you only have 180 Watts total this would work but would be a bit of overkill.

The 100/15 is good for up to 200 Watts of solar in a 12 volt system and would be adequate for your needs.

Q: Re: Smart Solar MPPT I am researching to build a 200ah lifepo4 solar generator. My question is , What is the minimum voltage on the input of this Controller? Does it have voltage boosting capability?

A: There is no boosting capability. The solar voltage must be a minimum of 5 volts above battery voltage for the charge controller to start. Note that such a small voltage difference may not allow the controller enough leeway to optimize the solar yield from the panel.

Q: I am building a system with (4) 100 watt Renogy 12v 6.25a solar panels. The Victron 100/30 seems like a perfect match. I am considering two battery options of (4) 12v AGM batteries of 100ah or 120ah, For a total of 400ah or 480ah. Would this charger would work well with either or both of these configurations?
