This 48-PSP-6354 kit has now been modified so it works with older as well as newer engines. The crank pulley between the older and newer models was a bit different but the kit has been re-engineered to fit both.

Note: If you specify an AT-200A Alternator, a longer belt length may be required

I have a Perkins T6.354.4 Range 4 diesel engine. I see in the Q/A that this kit will not work with the 6.354.4 because the water pump pulley bolt pattern. Is it possible for the buyer to modify the bolt pattern? Is that the only reason it is not compatible? Thank you

I believe it’s the bolt pattern on the water pump pulley. The 6.354 has a three hole pattern and the 6.3544 has a 4 hole pattern.

Engine installations vary, and the pulley kits can be used with lots of different alternators. Because of this the belts provided in the pulley kit only work about 80% of the time. If you get an alternator bigger than 170 amps the belts will almost certainly be too short. We have made it as easy as possible to swap out the belts.
You can purchase belts at this link.
There is a dropdown box for length. The belts that come in this kit are 55" circumference. The marking on them should be J550 which stands for 55.0" Remember that if you get other belts that the belt goes out and back so a 1" change in belt length moves the alternator by approx. 1/2".
Once you have your new belts you can set up a return to send the other ones back against the second order, it wont matter that you are not returning the exact same belts, as long as they haven't been used. Make sure you are logged in to your account when you place the order, then you will be able to set up the return yourself
