System Integration
Victron put passwords on all their Bluetooth devices. When you go to connect to the device using Victron Connect it asks you for the password. This is to protect you, the user, because now that there are so many devices out there it would be easy for someone to accidentally (or deliberately) change your settings or otherwise mess up your system. The default Bluetooth password was always 000000 but now they are actually setting unique passwords for some devices. All the newer models of Cerbo GX have their own unique password. When this happens it is printed on a sticker on the unit like in the example shown below.
There is a reset procedure for most devices if you have set a PIN and then forgotten it. If the PIN code is lost, it can be reset to 000000. This also applies to products that have already been delivered from the factory with a random PIN code; A reset with the PUK brings it back to 000000 - not to the factory setting. The way you reset depends on which product you are using but for most devices it goes as follows. Start by going to the device list and clicking on the three dots to the right of the product name:
When you click on the three dots it asks you if you want to reset the password or if you want to forget the item and remove it from your list. One you click on the reset password it asks you for the PUK Code.
If your phone has previously connected to this device you will have to remove the pairing and there is a video in the link that shows you how to do that. To find the PUK Code you will have to locate the sticker on the device that contains the part number, serial number, PUK code and other information. Sometimes this sticker will be on the underside and you might have to unscrew the device from where it is mounted to see it.
Once you enter the PUK code it will reset the password to 000000.
There are two devices that do not use this method. VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle: Reset the PIN code by pressing and holding the 'Clear PIN' button. After holding the button for 5 seconds, both LEDs will blink twice. This indicates that the PIN code has been reset. Blue Smart Chargers IP65: Reset the PIN code by pressing and holding the 'Mode' button on the charger. After holding the button for 10 seconds, all blue LEDs will blink twice. This indicates that the PIN code has been reset
MultiPlus and Quattro
Another password you will be asked for is the password for Victron Connect when using the Mk3 USB Interface to connect to MultiPlus and Quattro Inverter/Charger. That password is zzz
All these security features are to protect you from outside interference and we strongly urge you to make use of them to avoid unfortunate mishaps.
